Bio
Purnima Mitra is an interdisciplinary artist and technological visionary born in Bangladesh, working at the restless frontier where art confronts the future. Her practice navigates the tension between human imagination and machine intelligence, transforming advanced technologies into poetic, immersive worlds. Through 3D modeling and sculpting, digital fabrication, 3D scanning and reconstruction, and augmented and virtual reality, she constructs experiences where the audience no longer observes art—they enter it. Educated at the University of Dhaka for Bachelor’s degree, she was later awarded the prestigious Asian Art Major Scholarship (AMA) 2012 by the Korean Government for her Master of Fine Arts. Living and working across cultures has shaped her artistic language into something fluid and borderless—where Eastern philosophy, digital experimentation, and contemporary society collide. With more than a decade of experience at the edge of emerging technologies, Purnima has built a reputation as a commanding creative force—serving as Senior 3D Artist, Technical Art Director, and Lead of 3D teams, and now holding a leading role in the AR/VR innovation space. Her expertise spans parametric and polygonal modeling, biomedical & scientific visualization, digital fashion design, 3D scanning and reconstruction, immersive media, and experimental R&D, where art becomes both system and spectacle. Her works have appeared internationally across Bangladesh, Japan, Indonesia, the United States, South Korea, and beyond, reflecting a practice that moves effortlessly across borders. In 2012 she received the Runner-Up Award at the Young Painters Exhibition organized by Berger Paints Bangladesh. She has also been invited as a key speaker at international conferences in the United States, where she speaks on the evolving relationship between creativity, technology, workflow, and the future of human experience. Purnima Mitra embodies a rare global voice—an artist-engineer shaping new realities. Driven by ambition and vision, she continues to push toward a future where art, technology, and luxury digital culture merge into entirely new forms of experience.
